Seville, Spain
April 24-27, 2005

Report by Pauline Grob (8.59meg PDF or 3.83meg zip file)
Report by Wendy Adams, ADSNA President
It was a full and fabulous few days where we were wined, dined, and made to feel very welcome in a unique Spanish way. It was a privilege and an honour to represent Australian nurses as the President of ADSNA.

There were 1055 registered delegates and 310 abstracts, of which 50% were oral presentations.
Many of the papers were presented in Spanish and translated into English. Likewise, English presentations were translated into Spanish. The interpretation service was amazing as they interpreted many accents and styles of English!

There were 3 plenary sessions, eleven parallel sessions, Nicoll Memorial Lecture, workshops, satellite symposia, meet the expert sessions and the Opening and Closing lectures.

32 Australian delegates attended the conference from all around Australia. Most of these delegates were nurses and many brought partners or family with them who were able to join in with the social activities.

Wendy Adams (Victoria) and Celia Leary (NSW) were members of the Scientific committee and many Australians were involved in presenting papers, both as invited guests and with free papers as well as chairing sessions.

The following papers were presented by Australians:

  • The educational role of nursing, pre-admission clinics, self-care after ambulatory surgery by Wendy Adams, President ADSNA
